The Plesk Control Panel is a great place to gain control over your hosting account

So you are paying for web hosting which allows you to store your web files somewhere because you want your webpage to work, right? But is that really all you are getting when you order a Basic or Standard Hosting Account? The answers to the former questions, respectively, are as follows: YES and NO! As a matter of fact, there are quite a few people who do not know what you can do with a Basic Hosting Account. (Luckily for everyone, I'm here to help!)

Here at Ignus, we give you the FTP login, so if at some point you decide that you want to manage your site, you can. Is that a typo on your website? Well, it needs to be fixed. You can just edit that web file and make it live again by uploading the change using FTP. Only edit web files if you know what you are doing!!

With the Ignus Hosting interface there is a lot more you can do than just upload your web files, you have the power to do a lot of things. Remember that worker that is no longer around, could they still be using your company email account? Not if you go disable their email account they won't be. Have extra domains lying around? Make them aliases of your current domain, which would likely increase traffic to your site. Want to do something nice for your favorite clients? Make them some web user accounts, and allow them to make a little bio page about themselves that they can maintain. All the above features are easily done with your Ignus hosting account, all you have to do is log in, click on home (not your browser's home!), and click on the domain you are currently working on, finally select either mail, domain aliases, or web users.

That is not all you can do with your hosting account. You can create and delete email accounts, or even change the password for an account. There are reports for all your domains, where you can view detailed statistics about your web traffic, storage space, and more. Subdomains can be viewed and managed with ease. Your FTP password can even be changed if you like.

There's still more you can do with your Ignus hosting account, so take a look around, but at the same time be careful; because changes you make do affect your email and web site.
